About Me

I am Tara Hill, and I am a mom, a wife, and a teacher. I created Queen of the Hill Designs to share my knowledge and the resources I create with a wider audience of teachers and parents.

I have been a high school ELA teacher, an elementary ELA tutor, and currently am a college professor training teachers in the area of literacy. I also have three young children.

 

Literacy is my passion! I use research-based methods, combined with my own experiences in and out of the classroom, to create unique and high-quality resources for the classroom and home.

I have a B.A. in English/Secondary Education from Thomas More College, an M.Ed. in English Education from Vanderbilt University, and a Ph.D. in Learning, Teaching, and Diversity with an emphasis in Language, Literacy, and Culture from Vanderbilt University.

While the majority of the resources I designs I share are literacy-related, I also share a wide range of other things I create for my kids - from games and activities to parties and invitations. I hope something I share can be helpful to you!
